-shivers a bit- -has gotten too used to California wheather- -pulls her faux-fur-lined coat tighter around her small frame- -clutches a cup of hot cocoa- -rubs her nose- -must look like Rudolph- -has her cell phone glued to her ear as usual- "No way... did he really?" -snickers- "What a jerk." -continues chattering- -barely notices D- -sips her cocoa- -wonders if Daddy will let her take the car into town to go shopping- -they have some cute little boutiques there- -pretends to be interested in what Jackie is going on about- -checks her manicure- -meh- "I know it totally sucks. I'll be back in Cali after the Winter though." -frowns- "Ok. Yeah, I'll talk to ya later. Ciao doll." -sighs-

-lets her eyes rest on D for a bit- -looks down into her lap- "Oh k... good" -sips some cocoa- -puts the cup on the coffee table next to her- -feels her pocket vibrate- -jumps- -wrinkles her nose- -slips her phone out of her coat pocket- -reads the text message- -giggles- -smirks a bit- -glances up at D's question- -tucks a piece of hair behind her ear- -shakes her head- "Nope" -spent the day mostly indoors- -slept in- -went to the tanning bed at the resort spa- -lounged around her room for a while-

-glances down at her phone- -then back at D- -does it again- -isn't fond of the smirk on his face- -thinks it comes off quite smug- "Yup... waiting to hear from a friend from home..." -has come to think of Cali as more of her home than Utah- -despite the fact that she spent her younger years growing up there- "How was the mountain today?" -has never been good at small talk- -usually because she just doesn't care enough-
