In a far away land, there was a beautiful gloden castle sitting atop a mountain and hidden from sight by low-hanging clouds. Commoners wished to see it and those who did were forever amazed by its beauty...
Yeah, this has nothing to do with the role play. It actually goes more like this.
Today, the world has never evolved from monarchy and royal families and arranged marriages and everything else that would make people's hair curl today. No, they kept the morals and grew a bit. There's still Kings and Queens, Princes and Princesses, servants and peasants, knights and damsels in distress. Things have changed very little, as one can guess.
There are a no technological advances, no computers and cell phones, and most definetely nothing like cars or anything. People ride horses and, if you're lucky, carriages. There are extravagent castles, tapestries totally disregarding the royal families' short comings, servants who secretly plot behind their backs. Nothing special.
But, one other thing has not changed: Arranged marriages. Two princes in particular are fighting to be able to marry the girl they love.
The Prince of England is betrothed to a princess of some far away land he's never even laid eyes on and was okay with it for a little while. That was until he noticed one of his mother's Ladies in Waiting. He fell for her the moment he saw her and she him. The royal family hasn't found out about it yet, but they would do their best to keep them apart.
Meanwhile, the Prince of France is having a similar problem. He knows his betrothed very well, but he cannot stand her. Their parents think it's just a phase they'll grow out of, they'll come to accept it sooner or later. Everyone always had a rebellious phase. But he's dead serious he'll not have her for a wife.
Things are bound to happen and fights will start. Nothing's more fun than royal drama, is it not?
